TYPES OF SESSIONS
INDIVIDUAL & FAMILIES
We all need individual support at various points in our lives. I treat individuals ages 13+ through a family-systems perspective. I view your family story and present experience of relationships as powerful factors that have shaped you. When working with teens, I work closely with the guardians to keep teens safe while allowing them the space they need to heal.
CONSULTATIONS
Both trauma and eating disorders require experience and specialized care. I am happy to support mental health professionals as they work with these populations. Our time together could include treatment planning, problem solving, and general psychoeducation to help you feel comfortable in your clinical practice as you help your clients heal.
RATES
Individuals: $185-230 per 50-minute session
Families + Couples: $250 per 60-minute session
Professional Clinical Consultations: $200 per 60-minute session
I am an out-of-pocket provider, which means I do not accept insurance. If your insurance covers out-of-pocket providers, I would be happy to provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.
I do offer sliding scale based on need. I accept cash, check, credit card, and Health Spending Accounts.
AREAS OF SPECIALTY
Trauma
Trauma, or any event in the past or present that is causing significant distress, plays a role in the daily lives of many. Surviving any type of traumatic event, situation, or relationship can leave us feeling hopeless and lost. Healing is a realistic outcome of processing trauma and associated emotions through therapy.
Anxiety
Anxiety can be a perpetual state for many people. When we find ourselves experiencing anxiety in a way that affects our daily functioning, it is important to create coping skills to manage our distress. Processing anxiety and other emotions can help us find relief from our intense emotions. In our work, we will focus on understanding the root causes of your anxiety or other distress, and process those things together in order to create more choice and freedom.
Eating Disorders
However disordered eating may look for you - if it’s restricting, binging, purging, over-exercising, or chronic body image concerns - the perpetual chase of a body that feels “good enough” is exhausting. It is possible to live and experience your body, food, and exercise without fear. We can deconstruct the messages we are given about our bodies and work to define what health and wholeness looks like for you. I work holistically with treatment teams consisting of dieticians and your physician, if necessary. Treatment can include the families of teens and young adults to best support the client.
Disordered eating and our relationship with food has added complications as an athlete. I have specific training in treating past and present athletes. It is possible to pursue your sport and a healthy relationship with your body at the same time.
EMDR
"EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.” Read more about EMDR’s efficacy here.
EMDR has been crucial in my 7 years of treating trauma and emotional distress. Together we will create a treatment plan and pursue healing for the most challenging issues in your life.
